Charah, Inc. Names New Chief Operating Officer

 

LOUISVILLE, KY (January 6, 2009) – Charah®, Inc., a leading ash management provider for the coal-fired electric utility industry, announced today that it has named Danny L. Gray as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Gray has over 30 years experience in the electric utility and coal ash management industries.  Most recently, he served as Vice President of Mineral Resource Technologies, Inc. (MRT), a CEMEX subsidiary, from 2002 until this month. Prior to MRT, he was employed by ISG Resources, Inc. as Sr. Vice President. From 1988 until 1997, Mr. Gray was a member of the JTM Industries, Inc. management organization where he served as President of the JTM Engineering subsidiary company. He began his professional career in 1978 with American Electric Power in the environmental and regulatory area.

Mr. Gray graduated with honors from Virginia Tech with a BS in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in multiple states.

Charah is a charter member of the EPA’s Coal Combustion Products Partnership (C2P2) which encourages beneficial use of coal by-products. In April 2005, Charah was awarded the C2P2’s first place award for Innovation by the EPA for outstanding achievement in increasing the amount of coal-combustion products (CCPs) beneficially used in its patent-pending ash-based packaged concrete. In July 2008, Charah received its second C2P2 award, this one for Partnership recognizing its unique concrete packaging facility at AmerenUE’s Labadie Plant in Missouri.
